Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy vehicles (trucks, trailers, or container trucks) for the transportation of cargo and containers.
- Ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods to assigned locations.
- Perform pre-trip inspections on vehicles, ensuring that all equipment is in good working order.
- Ensure that cargo is loaded and unloaded according to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and delivery records, including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times.
- Follow traffic regulations and road safety guidelines.
- Communicate with dispatchers and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo as required (depending on the nature of the job).
- Ensure the secure transportation of containers and cargo to prevent damage during transit.
- Complete any necessary paperwork, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and inspection forms.
- Good knowledge of UAE routes, traffic rules, and driving laws.
Qualifications
- At least 2 **year of experience** in container and cargo transportation.
- Valid **commercial driver’s license (CDL)** with appropriate endorsements (depending on local regulations).
- Experience with **flatbed, container, or heavy-duty vehicles**.
- Knowledge of **weight limits, cargo securing methods**, and relevant **safety standards**.
- Ability to handle **loading and unloading operations**.
- **Good communication skills** to interact with dispatchers, clients, and warehouse staff.
- Ability to maintain **accurate records** of deliveries and vehicle inspections.
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Skills
- **Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge**, including checking oil, brakes, and tires.
- Experience with **intermodal transportation** (if applicable).
- Familiarity with **GPS systems** or route planning software.
