Role Description
This full-time Heavy Equipment Mechanic role is an on-site position located in Umm Al Quwain.
The mechanic will perform routine and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment and company vehicles, including inspections, servicing, and replacement of parts to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, carrying out repairs, and testing equipment to verify proper performance.
The role involves documenting maintenance activities, maintaining tools and workshop areas, and coordinating with supervisors and drivers to schedule repairs and minimize downtime.
The mechanic will also follow company safety procedures and industry standards, contributing to the overall efficiency of fleet and cargo operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Auto Mechanic (heavy vehicles)
- Strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Vehicle Maintenance to perform regular servicing, inspections, and preventive care.
- Proficiency in Equipment Repair and Heavy Equipment work, including hands-on experience with trucks, trailers, and other heavy machinery.
- Effective Troubleshooting abilities to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults accurately and efficiently.
- Relevant technical certification or vocational training in automotive or heavy equipment mechanics; additional manufacturer-specific training is an advantage.
- Previous experience as a heavy equipment or diesel mechanic, preferably in logistics, transport, or construction environments.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, workshop best practices, and proper use of tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, maintenance schedules, and repair documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Willingness to work on-site in Umm Al Quwain and to respond to urgent repair needs as required.
