Job purpose

Branch teller and cash operations

• Handle CDM cheque collection, journal tallying, and clearing submissions; process special-clearing and foreign-currency cheques.
• Manage vault access and cash, maintain next-day cash needs, reconcile teller cash and online transactions, investigate differences, and report overages or shortages.
• Process bulk cash receipts and withdrawals, monitor suspense accounts, issue drafts and manager’s cheques, and complete internal transfers.
• Check payment instruments, account entries, and transaction approvals against bank procedures and authority limits.
• Review teller journals, voucher bundles, daily reports, transaction volumes, and discrepancies; submit vouchers to internal control by the next working day.
• Maintain customer waiting-time standards, guide customers toward digital channels, train tellers, and cover Branch Operations Manager duties when required.

Education and experience

• 5–6 years of retail or branch banking experience as a Senior Teller or Head Teller.
• Graduate degree, preferably in a commercially oriented discipline, or a diploma in business/finance-related subjects.
