Hands-on, commercially minded Head Pastry Chef to lead pastry and bakery operations, develop products, and drive quality, productivity, and business growth.
The role combines technical pastry skills with leadership, operational discipline, and team management.
Work location is in person in Abu Dhabi.
Key responsibilities
- Develop pastry, cake, and bakery menus for daily operations, catering, and B2B customers.
- Lead, train, and develop the kitchen team while maintaining performance and accountability.
- Manage production planning, scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation.
- Maintain product quality, presentation, food safety, hygiene, and HACCP compliance.
- Control food costs, waste, portioning, recipe standards, and production efficiency.
- Develop standardized recipes, costing sheets, and production procedures.
- Manage bulk production and customized orders to meet deadlines and customer expectations.
- Own kitchen performance, team productivity, and continuous business improvement.
Ideal candidate
- At least 4–5 years of relevant pastry and bakery experience, including leadership experience.
- Strong expertise in cakes, pastries, bakery products, and large-scale production.
- Confident leader with strong communication and decision-making skills.
- Hands-on, organized, disciplined, and able to lead by example.
- Commercially aware, with strong knowledge of food costing, menu development, and production planning.
- Able to train, motivate, and hold team members accountable.
- Problem-solver who takes ownership, works under pressure, and delivers without constant supervision.
- Application details list 3 years of pastry and bakery experience and 2 years as a team leader as required; English is preferred.
- Must be able to commute to Abu Dhabi or relocate before starting.
Compensation
- Pay is AED 4,000–4,500 per month.
