The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and has Senior Performance Marketing Manager(s) and paid search specialists as direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • Set account structure, bidding, keyword, and audience strategies to scale volume while protecting margin.
  • Own revenue, spend, net revenue, and ROAS results.
  • Identify growth and efficiency opportunities across verticals, geographies, keywords, bidding, funnels, and landing pages.
  • Manage Google and other platform relationships, beta access, quarterly business reviews, and co-investment opportunities.
  • Lead and coach the paid search team; establish KPIs, testing roadmaps, and working practices, and review weekly performance.
  • Work with analytics, product, content, and finance on tracking, attribution, conversion rates, and reporting.
  • Present results, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Stay current on AI-driven campaign types, automated bidding, privacy, and measurement changes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in paid search or performance marketing, including 3+ years leading a team or channel.
  • Demonstrated ownership of large-scale Google Ads budgets and revenue and profitability targets.
  • Expert hands-on Google Ads command, including Search, Performance Max, Smart Bidding, scripts, Google Ads Editor, and Merchant Center where relevant.
  • Proficiency building AI agents and using AI to build systems and processes.
  • Financial and commercial skills in forecasting, margin modeling, and unit-economics-based spend decisions.
  • Experience managing platform, partner, and agency relationships and negotiating commercial terms.
  • Advanced GA4 and Excel or Sheets skills; SQL or BigQuery is a plus.
  • Knowledge of conversion tracking, offline conversion imports, attribution, and incrementality testing.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including presenting to senior leaders.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, digital-first, or high-growth environment.

Assets

  • Experience in insurance, banking, mortgage, lead generation, or financial services is an asset.
  • Experience with arbitrage or media-buying models that monetize search traffic through partners is an asset.
  • Bilingual English and French is an asset.

Location

  • The description lists Montreal, Quebec; no remote, hybrid, or onsite policy is stated.
