Overview

Role Purpose

Role Nature

• **Strategic Leadership:** Own and drive the technical vision, architecture, and long-term roadmap
• **Operational Leadership:** Oversee daily execution, task allocation, and delivery tracking
• **Hands-on Involvement:** Provide technical guidance and intervene in complex problem-solving when required

1. Technical Strategy & Architecture

• Define, own, and evolve the company’s technical roadmap
• Review and approve system architecture, ensuring alignment with business objectives
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and high performance of all production systems
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and manage technical debt effectively

2. Governance, Quality & Security

• Establish and enforce engineering standards, coding practices, and development frameworks
• Define and oversee security protocols, system hardening, and compliance measures
• Review and approve critical technical decisions and platform-wide changes
• Ensure adherence to quality benchmarks across all engineering outputs

3. Technical Operations (Daily Execution)

• Oversee task assignment across backend, frontend, mobile, and cross-functional teams
• Monitor progress and ensure timely delivery of features, enhancements, and bug fixes
• Supervise CI/CD pipelines and ensure efficient, stable deployments
• Manage and optimize Dockerized environments for system reliability
• Proactively resolve blockers and ensure seamless coordination across teams

4. Technical Leadership

• Conduct high-level code reviews and enforce engineering excellence
• Provide mentorship, technical direction, and support to development teams
• Ensure alignment with architectural standards in all development activities
• Build team capabilities and drive continuous learning and upskilling

5. Cross-Functional & Executive Collaboration

• Partner with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with business strategy
• Supervise the IT Team Leader (if applicable) or directly manage engineering operations
• Play a key role in hiring, team structuring, and scaling the engineering organization
• Contribute to strategic decision-making at the leadership level

Required Technical Stack (Hands-on & Architectural Expertise)

• Mobile: **Flutter**
• Backend: **Node.js**, **TypeScript**
• Database: **PostgreSQL**, **Redis**
• Frontend: **React.js**, **TanStack Query**
• DevOps: **CI/CD Pipelines**, **Dockerized Environments**

Mandatory Requirements

• Proven experience as **Head of Engineering, IT Manager, or Technical Architect**
• Strong track record of managing development teams and overseeing daily execution
• Deep expertise in backend systems and API architecture
• Experience building and managing scalable, high-availability production systems
• Strong knowledge of containerization (Docker) and CI/CD workflows
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with **digital platforms or marketplace-based products**
• Prior exposure to or experience within the **Saudi market** is a strong advantage
• Experience in cloud-native architectures and modern deployment practices
