Job summary

Infrastructure and network responsibilities

• Assess availability, reliability, and technical requirements and identify relevant network standards bodies.
• Prepare specifications and standards for operating and storage-system devices.
• Maintain primary servers and provide licensed operating systems and application software.
• Implement electronic connectivity between ministry administrative units.
• Design internal and external networks to approved technical standards.
• Supervise and improve the ministry's electronic and communications network infrastructure.
• Prepare backup plans, install backup systems, and preserve original copies for emergencies.
• Support and monitor networks, troubleshoot faults, and oversee connectivity, communication lines, and configurations.
• Coordinate technical work between departments and prepare and update service-level agreements.

User and equipment support

• Set standards for personal devices, software, and accessories that suit the work.
• Perform periodic maintenance on employee devices and accessories and resolve related problems.
• Receive employee complaints and inquiries, resolve them, or refer them to the appropriate departments.
• Measure user satisfaction and submit periodic service-quality reports.
• Prepare office equipment and telephones for employees and monitor communication-line quality, coordinating with telecom companies to resolve issues.
• Perform other tasks required to meet ongoing organizational needs.

Essential education

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

Essential certifications and experience

• Certification and training programs related to data-center facility operations management, cloud computing, storage, backup, or related areas.
