Head Barista – Job Description

Position Title: Head Barista
Department: Operations / Café
Reports To: Café Manager / Operations Manager

Job Summary

The Head Barista is responsible for overseeing daily coffee operations, ensuring the highest quality of beverages, maintaining consistency in preparation, and leading the barista team. This role combines hands-on coffee making with team supervision, training, and maintaining excellent customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Coffee Preparation & Quality Control

• Prepare and serve specialty coffee and beverages to a high standard
• Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality
• Monitor coffee extraction, grinding, and brewing techniques
• Maintain knowledge of coffee origins, blends, and brewing methods

2. Team Leadership & Training

• Supervise and support barista team during shifts
• Train new staff on coffee preparation, equipment usage, and service standards
• Schedule staff and manage shift coverage
• Motivate the team to maintain high performance

3. Customer Service

• Ensure excellent customer experience at all times
• Handle customer complaints professionally and efficiently
• Engage with customers and build relationships

4. Inventory & Stock Management

• Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and supplies
• Coordinate with procurement for ordering and restocking
• Minimize wastage and ensure proper storage

Qualifications & Requirements

• Proven experience as a Barista (minimum 3–5 years), with leadership experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of specialty coffee and brewing techniques
• Ability to operate espresso machines and grinders professionally
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
• Need to have a valid QID
• Need to have Food handler Certificate
• Visa should be transferrable

Pay: QAR4,000.00 - QAR6,500.00 per month
