**Position Title** : Hatchery Manager
**Location** : Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA)
**Salary Range** : 7,000 – 9,000 AED per month
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Hatchery Manager to lead and oversee all hatchery operations at our facility in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of marine and/or freshwater species, ensuring optimal production performance, team leadership, and adherence to quality and biosecurity standards.
Hatchery Operations & Production
- Oversee daily hatchery operations including broodstock management, spawning, incubation, and larval rearing
- Manage live feed production — rotifers, Artemia, and microalgae cultures
- Monitor and maintain optimal water quality parameters across all tanks and systems
- Implement and supervise Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) protocols
- Ensure production targets for fingerling/juvenile output are consistently met
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and supervise hatchery technicians and support staff
- Develop staff training programs and SOPs to ensure best practices
- Plan and coordinate shift schedules and workload distribution
Health, Biosecurity & Quality Assurance
- Develop and enforce biosecurity protocols to prevent disease introduction and spread
- Monitor fish health and coordinate with aquatic veterinarians when required
- Maintain detailed production records, mortality logs, and performance reports
- Ensure compliance with KSA regulatory standards and company quality policies
Technical & Strategic Planning
- Evaluate and implement new hatchery technologies to improve efficiency and yields
- Collaborate with management on production planning, budgeting, and procurement
- Prepare regular performance reports and KPI dashboards for senior management
Education
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Aquaculture, Marine Biology, Fisheries Science, or a related field
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on hatchery experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role
- Proven experience with marine species (Sea Bass, Sea Bream) and/or freshwater species (Tilapia, Catfish)
- Demonstrated expertise in live feed culture, larval rearing, and RAS management
- Previous experience working in GCC/Middle East environments is a strong advantage
Technical Skills
- In-depth knowledge of broodstock management, induced breeding, and spawning techniques
- Proficiency in water quality monitoring tools and data management systems
- Familiarity with biosecurity procedures, fish health management, and disease prevention
- Experience developing and implementing SOPs and production protocols
Personal Competencies
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus)
- Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced operational environment
