One of Melbourne’s most iconic CBD arcades has been reimagined with the redevelopment of Melbourne Walk, now home to IHG’s first Australian dual-branded hotel project. We are on the lookout for a driven, friendly and approachable Group Sales Executive that will work closely with our hotel commercial team in a reactive sales capacity for room sales and room materialization. A little taste of your day-to-day Create proposals, negotiate sales prices and secure conference and event business within booking guidelines. Follow up on requests received from clients to ensure the client receives a response within 24 hours Follow up on outstanding proposals to ensure strong conversion Actively pursue opportunities to grow client base and convert conference and events business and create an ongoing pipeline of business Work closely with Revenue Management to ensure that pricing and yield management principles and adhered to and implements Conduct pre-stay and post-stay meetings with clients and operational teams to identify improvements to the guest experience Ensure the whole client experience is successful and memorable and act as the brand ambassador and key contact throughout their journey Build long term relationships with planners and hosts to increase loyalty to the hotel and to the brand Prepare BEO’s and Group Sheets participate in the weekly BEO meeting to ensure the hotel team have necessary information to deliver a successful event What we need from you Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in Hotel Administration or Sales/Management Minimum 2 years of demonstrated hotel sales experience with a proven track record of success driving repeat business Excellent written and verbal communication skills Good understanding of hotel systems and revenue management principles Undertaken formal sales training program (internal or external) Must have a right to work in Australia.
