Role overview
Lead a portfolio of ZT1 initiatives as a hands-on product builder with direct product ownership and no direct people management responsibilities.
Own vision, strategy, and roadmap for new products and platforms, partnering with product, engineering, analytics, revenue, and business teams.
Work with the CEO and executive team to turn high-level ideas into durable, scalable businesses.
Product strategy and development
- Understand users, merchants, partners, customer needs, and market trends to identify high-impact zero-to-one opportunities.
- Define product vision, opportunity areas, roadmap priorities, outcomes, and business-impact success metrics.
- Drive new products and platforms through discovery, validation, MVP definition, launch, and iteration.
- Own UI/UX; use AI tools to create and refine working prototypes; write customer-facing copy.
- Analyze customer behavior and funnels, and own experimentation from hypotheses and test design through analysis and iteration.
- Coordinate ZT1 work with core product roadmaps to maintain quality, aligned user experience, and cohesive business results.
Leadership and product craft
- Lead cross-functional groups spanning engineering, design, data, risk, capital, operations, revenue, legal, and compliance.
- Advise the CEO and executive team on product bets, tradeoffs, and prioritization; communicate decisions, risks, and plans through clear documentation.
- Establish product patterns, decision frameworks, and execution standards; help shape the ZT1 culture and operating model without direct people management.
Experience and qualifications
- Approximately 8–10+ years of product management experience and a track record shipping and scaling consumer-facing or platform products.
- End-to-end ownership of technical software products and ability to explain their business impact.
- Direct experience leading zero-to-one or highly ambiguous product areas with meaningful outcomes.
- Experience working with engineering, data, design, and other teams without direct authority and coordinating work across complex organizations.
- Hands-on fluency with AI tools for prototyping, design, content, and analysis; able to work without dedicated design, analytics, or content partners.
- Strong communication, influence, judgment, and commercial instincts for cross-functional decisions and business strategy.
- Founder or early-stage startup experience is a plus.
Compensation
- Canadian base pay range is CAD 209,000–269,000 per year; total compensation may include equity, stipends, and benefits.
Location and work arrangement
- Remote role open to candidates residing in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan.
- Affirm is remote-first; some positions may occasionally require office attendance, and new hires are invited to in-person onboarding.
Benefits
- Benefits include employer-paid medical, dental, and vision premiums, monthly spending stipends, flexible time off, holiday calendars, and an employee stock purchase plan.
