Group Financial Controller

About This Role

As the Group Financial Controller, you will be a seasoned Finance leader responsible for Control, Reporting, Management Accounts, Banking and Finance Operations, reporting directly to the Group CFIO.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Financial Leadership: Own and direct the financial control and reporting functions, management accounting, treasury, banking, and cashflow management. You will define the strategy for finance operations to ensure scalability and excellence.
• Governance & Integrity: Oversee the end-to-end process for gathering and validating quantitative and qualitative financial data. You will be the final arbiter for the accuracy and completeness of financial information across all internal and external sources.
• Advanced Business Analytics: Lead the analysis of complex financial and business data. You will utilize advanced statistical techniques to identify high-level trends, risks, and opportunities that impact the long-term health of the organization.
• Executive Advisory: Interpret financial results to determine causality and business impact. You will provide high-level recommendations and strategic advice directly to the CFIO to drive informed decision-making.
• Stakeholder Reporting: Design and oversee the delivery of comprehensive financial forecasts and reports. You will ensure that all outputs meet the rigorous demands of the Executive Team and external stakeholders within critical deadlines.
• Communication Excellence: Ensure all financial narratives and interpretations are presented with absolute clarity and strategic context, tailoring complex data for various audiences including the Board, investors, and regulatory bodies.
• Systems & Modeling Oversight: Drive the evolution of the Group’s financial models, tools, and analytical processes, ensuring the technology stack supports the evolving needs of a sophisticated business.
• Departmental Leadership: Lead, inspire, and mentor a high-performing finance department. You will be responsible for departmental structure, succession planning, and fostering a culture of continuous professional development and excellence.

Skills Required:

• Strong expertise in management accounting, and treasury operations.
• Knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS/GAAP) and regulatory requirements
• Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights and strategy.
• Strong commercial acumen with a forward-looking, risk-aware mindset.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic decision-making.
• Experience preparing and delivering board-level reports and investor communications.
• Strong commitment to financial governance, accuracy, and compliance.
• Experience overseeing audits, internal controls, and financial data integrity processes.

Educational Qualifications / Professional Experience:

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
• Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent is highly desirable.

Professional Experience

• 10-15 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record in financial control, reporting, treasury, insurance organizations.
• Experience working closely with executive leadership (C-suite) and advising on strategic decisions.
