Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Group Finance Controller / Finance Director to lead and oversee the Group’s finance function.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director and Shareholder.
The successful candidate should combine strong financial control capabilities with strategic and operational finance leadership, supporting the company’s growth and investment projects.
Financial Control And Reporting
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and local statutory requirements.
- Corporate tax planning, VAT compliance and refund experience.
- Oversee external audits and maintain effective internal controls.
Commercial And Operational Finance
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and investment activities.
- Provide financial analysis to support pricing and trading decisions.
- Monitor key business performance indicators and identify opportunities for improvement.
Strategic And Corporate Finance
- Strategic financial planning and analysis of different investment projects.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and expansion projects.
- Lead financial due diligence, business case preparation, and post-investment monitoring.
- Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and external stakeholders/ partners in different projects.
Leadership And Process Improvement
- Lead and develop the current finance team, process improvements.
- Establish best practices in financial management and reporting.
Experience Expectations
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar senior finance leadership role within the UAE.
- Proven experience as Group Finance Controller, Finance Director, Financial Controller, or equivalent position.
- Preferably background within oil & gas, energy, commodities, or trading business activities.
- Preferably experience in marine fuels, marine lubricants, bunker trading, or related sectors will be a distinct advantage.
- Experience with investment projects and business expansion outside the UAE.
- Experience working with finance institutions, banks, and external auditors.
- Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, treasury, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Experience with ERP systems and finance transformation projects.
- Solid understanding of internal controls, risk management, and corporate finance.
- Knowledge of international trade finance and commodity trading operations is highly desirable.
