Role overview

Job responsibilities

• Oversee group financial control and maintain accurate, timely and consistent financial records.
• Review financial results and management information, highlighting key movements and areas requiring attention.
• Coordinate period-end close activities across group entities to deliver reliable reporting.
• Maintain effective accounting controls and clear documentation across finance processes.
• Work with finance colleagues to resolve accounting queries and improve financial data quality.
• Prepare and review financial reports for stakeholders.
• Monitor balance sheet accounts and ensure reconciliations are completed and reviewed.
• Identify improvements to financial reporting and control activities.

Candidate requirements

• Professional accounting qualification is mandatory, such as ACA, ACCA or CA.
• Industrial-sector experience is mandatory.
• Strong experience in financial control, accounting and group reporting.
• Ability to identify significant movements or discrepancies in financial information.
• Knowledge of period-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ability to prepare clear, accurate reports for business stakeholders.
• Ability to maintain accounting controls and improve finance processes.
• Strong attention to detail with financial data and accounting records.
