Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of grooming services, including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling, for various dog and cat breeds.
• Use grooming tools and equipment effectively to achieve desired results and meet client preferences.
• Address specific grooming needs and requests from clients, including breed-specific cuts and styles.
• Conduct thorough consultations with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences, discuss any concerns, and provide professional recommendations.
• Maintain clear communication with clients regarding grooming services, pricing, and appointment scheduling.
• Provide feedback to clients on their pets' health and any grooming-related observations.
• Ensure that all grooming services meet the salon's quality standards and client expectations.
• Conduct final inspections of pets before they are returned to their owners to ensure a polished and professional appearance.
• Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to grooming services promptly and effectively.
• Work collaboratively with junior groomers, grooming assistants, and senior groomers to ensure efficient salon operations.
• Assist with training and mentoring junior staff, providing guidance on grooming techniques and best practices.
• Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, including grooming stations, tools, and equipment.
• Ensure that all grooming tools and equipment are sanitized and in good working order.
• Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe environment for pets and staff.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional manner.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
• Assist with client check-in and check-out processes, including handling payments and scheduling follow-up appointments.
• Monitor pets for signs of health issues or distress and report any concerns to management.
• Follow all safety protocols to ensure the well-being of pets during grooming procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of grooming services performed, including details of the services, special instructions, and pet health notes.
• Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking grooming supplies and products.
• Stay informed about industry trends, new grooming techniques, and pet care innovations to continuously improve service offerings.
• Participate in grooming workshops, seminars, and continuing education opportunities as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; formal grooming certification or training is a plus but not required.
• Previous experience in pet care or grooming is preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
• Basic understanding of pet grooming techniques and tools.
• Ability to handle and groom pets with patience and care.
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
