Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Digital Design, User Experience Design, Multimedia Design, or a related field
  • Junior standing preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain design consistency across projects
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively present and explain design concepts and decisions
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign and/or Figma
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop
  • Basic video editing skills
  • Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Exposure to AI image generation or image editing tools
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
  • Interest in marketing, branding, and visual storytelling
  • Interest in home design, interior design, or related industries
  • Portfolio demonstrating creative thinking, attention to detail, and visual communication skills
  • Experience creating design work through coursework, student organizations, freelance work, internships, or personal projects
  • Compensation: The starting pay rate for this position is $23.00 per hour. Compensation for this role is established through Pella Corporation’s internship program. Eligible participants may receive transition assistance in accordance with company policies and program guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • As a Graphic Design Intern, you will support design and content creation initiatives across a variety of marketing and business projects.
  • Responsibilities are similar to what we expect of entry-level design professionals and provide opportunities to develop creative, technical, and professional skills through meaningful project work.
  • As a Graphic Design Intern, you may:
  • Design print materials that support marketing and business initiatives
  • Design digital materials for a variety of internal and external audiences
  • Edit videos for social media and other business-related productions
  • Edit and enhance images for creative projects
  • Utilize AI-supported image tools and design technologies as appropriate
  • Collaborate with creative team members to execute a variety of assignments and projects
  • Support content creation efforts across multiple channels
  • Projects and assignments will be determined based on business needs and team priorities.
  • Additional Information
  • Full-time internship assignment (May-August 2027)
  • Assigned manager and creative team support throughout the internship
  • No supervisory responsibilities
  • Opportunities to collaborate with marketing, creative, and cross-functional business teams
  • Exposure to both print and digital design projects
  • Opportunity to gain marketing and creative agency experience through meaningful project work
