Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Governess - Private Tutor role based in Dubai.
The Governess - Private Tutor will provide personalized academic support to school-aged children, including planning and delivering daily lessons aligned with their school curriculum and learning goals.
Responsibilities
include creating structured study schedules, supervising homework, preparing educational activities, and tracking academic progress.
The tutor will also focus on developing good study habits, encouraging critical thinking, and fostering a positive attitude toward learning.
Additional duties may include coordinating with parents and, where applicable, school teachers to ensure consistent academic expectations, organizing enrichment activities, and maintaining a safe, respectful learning environment in the home.
Qualifications
- Strong teaching and tutoring skills, with experience supporting primary and/or secondary school curricula.
- Ability to plan lessons, create learning materials, and adapt teaching methods to different learning styles and ages.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills; additional languages are an advantage.
- Proven skills in classroom or small-group management, including maintaining structure, boundaries, and positive discipline.
- Experience working in a private household or as a private tutor, governess/governor, or similar educational role is highly beneficial.
- Relevant academic background, such as a bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, Pedagogy, or a related field.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and cultural sensitivity, especially in international or multicultural settings.
- Organizational and time-management skills to coordinate schedules, activities, and academic milestones.
- Willingness to collaborate closely with parents and, when needed, school staff to align goals and expectations.
- First aid training or a willingness to obtain it, and a clear background check, in line with child safety best practices.
