The Technical Area Lead for Legal is the firm's senior technical authority for legal technology and connects legal strategy with technical execution.
Technical leadership and delivery
- Set technical direction, standards, architecture, and delivery practices for legal technology capabilities.
- Oversee contract lifecycle management, conflicts clearance, knowledge management, eDiscovery and litigation support, matter management, insurance, corporate elections, and agentic AI.
- Guide platform and vendor selection, delivery trade-offs, SDLC practices, and technology and AI quality observability and health metrics.
- Lead chapter leads and specialists across Software Engineering and AI, SaaS Engineering, Quality Assurance, Data, and L2 Operations; manage relevant vendor relationships.
Portfolio and governance
- Create and deliver the Legal portfolio vision, strategy, and outcomes in partnership with the Legal Portfolio.
- Ensure legal platforms work cohesively and programmes support risk, compliance, and commercial priorities.
- Monitor legal technology, agentic AI, and automation developments and assess the portfolio against global priorities and regulatory change.
- Coordinate Legal, Tech, Data, business, architecture, risk, security, and compliance stakeholders; resolve cross-team issues.
- Align legal technology with firm-wide architecture and IT standards while adapting them to Legal's needs.
