Role overview

Portfolio leadership

• Create and deliver the Legal Portfolio's vision, strategy, and outcomes.
• Provide technical oversight across contract lifecycle management, conflicts clearing, matter management, and knowledge management platforms.
• Monitor legal technology, agentic AI, and automation trends to identify opportunities.
• Ensure programs support portfolio risk, compliance, and commercial ambitions.
• Assess the portfolio's strategic approach against global priorities and respond to regulatory and technology changes.
• Collaborate across Legal, Tech, Data, and business functions to align solutions with commercial, technical, and enterprise architecture needs.
• Escalate issues spanning teams or systems and support timely resolution.

Technical standards and team leadership

• Align legal technology with firm-wide architectural roadmaps and enterprise architecture principles, adapting them to Legal Portfolio needs.
• Partner with enterprise architecture, data, risk, security, and compliance governance teams on legal technology activity.
• Oversee delivery trade-offs, platform and vendor selection, SDLC practices, and technology and AI quality observability and health metrics.
• Lead chapter leads and specialists across Software Engineering & AI, SaaS Engineering, Quality Assurance, Data, and L2 Operations.
• Manage external vendor relationships where relevant.

Role qualifications

• Deep technical legal-technology expertise and ability to drive cross-functional transformation.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate strategic ambition into measurable outcomes.
• Technical breadth across legal platforms and capabilities, including contracts, conflicts, knowledge management, eDiscovery, matter management, insurance, corporate elections, and agentic AI.
• Experience guiding technical direction, platform and vendor selection, delivery trade-offs, SDLC practices, and quality metrics.
• Leadership experience across multidisciplinary technology teams.
