Global IT Software Engineer Senior Director & Tech Area Lead - Legal

Role overview

Technical leadership and platforms

• Set technical direction across contract lifecycle management, conflict clearance, legal knowledge management, eDiscovery and litigation support, matter allocation and management, insurance, corporate elections, and agentic AI.
• Oversee delivery trade-offs, platform and vendor selection, SDLC practices, and technology and AI quality observability and health metrics.
• Lead legal technology chapter leads and specialists across software engineering and AI, SaaS engineering, quality assurance, data, and L2 operations; manage external vendor relationships where relevant.
• Partner with the Legal Portfolio to align technical capabilities with risk, compliance, and commercial priorities.

Portfolio responsibilities

• Create and deliver the portfolio vision, strategy, and outcomes.
• Provide oversight and alignment across legal platforms and ensure they operate cohesively across the ecosystem.
• Monitor legal technology, agentic AI, and automation trends to identify opportunities.
• Ensure programs and chapter initiatives deliver on risk, compliance, and commercial ambitions.
• Assess the portfolio strategy against global priorities and adjust to regulatory and technological change.
• Promote collaboration among Legal, Tech, Data, and business functions so solutions are commercially aligned, technically sound, and consistent with enterprise architecture principles.
• Escalate cross-team or cross-system work to support alignment and timely issue resolution.
