Role overview

Join Inline Group’s Operations team as a GIS Data Analyst supporting survey data processing and analysis.

Work supports mining and civil project tracking, material movement, and client deliverables.

What you’ll do

  • Process UAV, GPS, scanned, and other survey datasets into topographical outputs using GIS and survey tools.
  • Classify point clouds, extract features, and organize data for CAD, GIS, and project analysis.
  • Calculate volumes, reconcile quantities with truck tonnage or haul records, and support load-factor assessments.
  • Improve data-processing and client-reporting workflows using current technology.
  • Integrate UAV photogrammetry, terrestrial scanning, and GPS observations; validate data and identify inconsistencies.
  • Maintain structured, audit-ready data environments and prepare accurate reports and client deliverables.

Minimum qualifications and experience

  • Diploma or degree in Geomatics, GIS, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years in topographic data processing or spatial data analysis.
  • Proficiency with Trimble Business Center, Global Mapper, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and Minescape.
  • Understanding of UAV-collected data and GPS survey workflows; able to work with point clouds for classification, feature extraction, and analysis.
  • Experience with volumetric calculations and reconciliation against truck tonnage or haul data.
  • Experience using survey data from multiple sources, including UAV, terrestrial laser scanning, and GPS field collection.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, able to communicate clearly, troubleshoot, and adapt to changing tools and workflows.

Additional skills and assets

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; Power BI and Power Automate are assets.
  • Mining workflow or open-pit and heavy civil survey-deliverable experience is a plus, not a requirement.
  • Practical field experience with UAV systems or survey equipment is beneficial but not required.
  • Scripting or automation knowledge such as Python, FME, or Power Automate is beneficial.

Benefits

  • The company advertises competitive hourly pay and overtime opportunities.
  • Benefits include healthcare coverage, a Health and Wellness Spending Account, a PPE allowance, RRSP matching, and future growth opportunities.
