Geotechnical Foreman

About This Role

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily geotechnical site activities, including drilling, sampling, testing, and ground improvement works.
• Manage and guide site technicians, drillers, and operators to ensure proper work execution.
• Ensure that soil investigation works, such as borehole drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing, are conducted according to project specifications.
• Oversee field testing activities, including plate load tests, permeability tests, density tests, and other geotechnical tests.
• Monitor and ensure proper installation of geotechnical instrumentation such as piezometers, settlement markers, and inclinometers.
• Ensure that all equipment and machinery are properly maintained and used safely.
• Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations on site.
• Coordinate with the Site Engineer, Geotechnical Engineer, and Project Manager regarding site progress and technical issues.
• Maintain daily site reports, manpower records, and equipment logs.
• Ensure compliance with project quality standards and testing procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any stream
• Additional technical training in drilling operations or geotechnical testing is an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in geotechnical or construction site supervision.
• Experience in soil investigation, drilling operations, and field testing.
• Arabic nationalities are preferred with a Qatari Driving License

Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of geotechnical field operations and testing procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret geotechnical drawings and borehole logs.
• Good leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of site safety practices and HSE standards.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.

Working Conditions

• Primarily field-based work at construction or investigation sites.
• May require working outdoors in varying weather conditions and extended hours depending on project requirements.

Pay: Up to QAR7,500.00 per month
