Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist role based in Jeddah.
The GIS Specialist will collect, process, and manage geospatial data to support planning, engineering, and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
include creating, updating, and analyzing digital maps and spatial datasets, performing spatial analyses, and generating clear visualizations, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
The role involves maintaining GIS databases and metadata, ensuring data quality and integrity, and integrating GIS outputs with other project systems and documentation.
The GIS Specialist will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary project teams, respond to data and mapping requests, and contribute to the development of GIS standards, tools, and workflows within Dorsch Global.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), including use of leading GIS software and tools.
- Experience working with geospatial data and maps, including data capture, editing, analysis, and cartographic design.
- Solid analytical skills and data management capabilities, including organizing, validating, and maintaining spatial and non-spatial datasets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geomatics, GIS, Environmental Science, Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- Familiarity with spatial databases, coordinate systems, and basic scripting or automation (e.g., Python, SQL) is an advantage.
- Ability to interpret technical project requirements and translate them into effective GIS solutions and map products.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and ability to prioritize tasks in a project-driven environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams on-site in Jeddah.
