Job Summary

The General Practitioner is responsible for providing primary healthcare services, diagnosing and treating common medical conditions, promoting preventive healthcare, and ensuring high-quality patient care in accordance with medical standards and clinic policies.

Key Responsibilitiespatient Care

  • Conduct patient consultations and physical examinations.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Prescribe medications and treatment plans as appropriate.
  • Provide preventive healthcare advice and health education.
  • Monitor patient progress and follow up on treatment outcomes.
  • Refer patients to specialists when necessary.

Clinical Duties

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and other investigations.
  • Manage minor medical procedures within the scope of practice.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care when required.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines and healthcare regulations.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Complete medical reports, certificates, and documentation as required.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and data protection standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.
  • Coordinate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Health Promotion

  • Educate patients on disease prevention, nutrition, vaccination, and healthy lifestyle practices.
  • Promote community health awareness and preventive medicine programs.

Qualifications

  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
  • Valid medical license/registration with the relevant health authority.
  • DHA/MOH/DOH license or eligibility (as applicable).
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS is an advantage.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
