First 12 months
- First 90 days: review operations, customers, contracts, costs, and team; agree expansion priorities; bring new units into service; roll out telematics; secure capacity-loading contracts.
- By month 6: set utilization and cost-per-kilometre targets using operating data, activate paid driver incentives, and establish monthly reporting to the Chairman.
- By month 12: run the expanded operation at or above budgeted profit and meet fleet availability, safety, and fuel-efficiency targets.
Commercial and operational leadership
- Grow and diversify industrial and project-sector customers, negotiate contracts and rates, and own key account relationships.
- Price trips and contracts using cost-per-kilometre analysis and backhaul planning to reduce empty running.
- Lead daily dispatch, trip planning, and delivery performance; use weekly KPI reviews to address variances.
Fleet, people, and governance
- Roll out telematics, fuel control, and planned maintenance; manage dealer contracts, tyre policy, and fleet availability.
- Lead fleet expansion, subcontracting, and asset-replacement decisions using operational facts.
- Develop the team, recruit and onboard staff for expansion, manage driver KPIs and incentives, and strengthen safety performance.
- Own the annual budget, monthly management accounts, cash flow, and collections.
- Ensure compliance with TGA requirements, licences, operating cards, WASL tracking, Bayan waybills, Saudi Labour Law, Qiwa, GOSI, and ZATCA e-invoicing.
- Report monthly to the Chairman on performance, risks, and decisions required.
Qualifications and experience
- At least 15 years in road freight and logistics, including at least 7 years as a General Manager or in senior operations leadership.
- Proven experience running a large heavy truck fleet in Saudi Arabia with full P&L responsibility and an established Saudi transport customer network.
- Sound knowledge of TGA regulations, WASL, Bayan, Saudi governing laws, and government platforms.
- Hands-on experience with telematics, fuel control, and fleet management systems.
- Strong commercial, financial, and negotiation capability.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
Work context
- The General Manager leads from the yard as well as the office, with operational responsibility for the expanded fleet.
