General Manager

Role overview

Management responsibilities

• Manage shifts, staffing, and ordering with the events manager and established team of supervisors.
• Drive innovation and further trade while working toward employment, profit, and other financial KPIs.
• Lead the team in delivering outstanding customer service and creating a positive work environment.
• Manage beer and the cellar, and support front-of-house food service and kitchen standards with the Head Chef.
• Manage rotas and time planning, build the team, and train staff in products, service style, company standards, and health and safety.
• Run events and manage social media and the pub's online presence, where applicable.

Experience and knowledge

• Requires at least two years' experience in hospitality management and a similar establishment or position.
• Requires understanding of financial targets, food and drink gross profit, and wage percentages.
• Requires knowledge of beer management and cellar management; cellar training certification is highly desirable.
• Requires knowledge of fresh food catering, wine, spirits, cocktails, front-of-house food service, compliance, health and safety, and food standards.
• Requires experience managing teams, adapting rotas, time planning, team building, and training staff.

Desirable experience

• Previous experience running events and social media knowledge to manage a strong online presence are desirable.

Pay and bonus

• Pay starts at £36,000 per year, with a performance-based bonus of up to £6,000 per year and tronc tips of approximately £100 per week.
