Position Summary
Provides general labour support to COIT Services in the field and in plant by assisting technicians with job preparation, equipment handling, loading and unloading supplies, and moving customer goods.
Assists with the pickup and delivery of large drapery, blind, and area rug orders.
Supports efficient completion of customer appointments while maintaining professional conduct and following company procedures.
Schedule
- Monday to Saturday, as assigned.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required by operational needs.
Core Responsibilities
- Be a positive ambassador and representative of COIT Services at all times.
- Provide courteous, professional, and respectful service when interacting with customers, coworkers, and others at job sites.
- Assist technicians with the preparation and completion of assigned jobs.
- Load, unload, move, and organize equipment, tools, supplies, and materials required for daily operations.
- Assist with transporting equipment and materials between the company vehicle and the worksite, including navigating stairs and hallways.
- Help prepare work areas by moving items, protecting surrounding surfaces, and setting up equipment and supplies.
- Assist with moving furniture and other items using proper lifting techniques.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas throughout each job and upon completion.
- Assist with packing up equipment, collecting supplies, and ensuring all company property is accounted for.
- Follow all company safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Report damaged equipment, missing supplies, unsafe conditions, incidents, or potential property damage promptly.
- Handle customer property with care and respect while working in customers' homes or businesses.
Skills & Requirements
- Must have a current BC Driver's License.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable, with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from technicians and supervisors.
- Ability to handle physical work safely, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling equipment and materials.
- Strong attention to detail when handling equipment, supplies, and customer property.
- Positive attitude and professional conduct when working around customers.
- Willingness to learn company procedures and follow established safety requirements.
- Previous general labour, warehouse, moving, construction, or similar experience is an asset but not required.
- Basic communication skills in English sufficient to understand instructions and interact professionally with customers and coworkers.
Physical Demands
Position is physically demanding and involves frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
Equipment and materials may weigh approximately 50 pounds and may need to be carried through hallways, up and down stairs, or across other access areas.
Work occurs in a variety of customer environments with different site conditions.
