General Accountant

Overview

Key Responsibilities Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Assist in preparing management reports, budgets, and financial forecasts.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

Accounts Payable Management

• Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and goods received notes.
• Process supplier payments and maintain payment schedules.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor outstanding liabilities and maintain healthy vendor relationships.

Accounts Receivable Management

• Generate customer invoices and ensure timely billing.
• Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding receivables.
• Reconcile customer accounts and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Prepare aging reports and support collection efforts.

Inventory & Cost Accounting

• Monitor inventory transactions and stock valuation.
• Reconcile inventory records with physical stock counts.
• Track inventory movement of tiles, sanitary ware, building materials, and related products.
• Analyze inventory variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Support costing and margin analysis for products and projects.

Banking & Cash Management

• Perform daily bank reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare cash position reports.
• Coordinate with banks regarding payments, transfers, guarantees, and banking facilities.

Tax & Compliance

• Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with UAE regulations.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and schedules.

Erp & System Management

• Maintain accounting records within ERP/accounting systems.
• Ensure accurate coding and posting of transactions.
• Assist in improving accounting processes and internal controls.

Required Qualificationseducation

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.

Experience

• 5–6 years of accounting experience.
• Experience in tiles, building materials, construction materials, trading, or distribution companies is highly preferred.
• Experience handling inventory accounting and stock reconciliation.
• Experience in UAE accounting practices and VAT regulations preferred.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with inventory accounting and cost control.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Financial Analysis).
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Odoo, Tally, Focus, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and compliance requirements.
