Role
Trillium Architectural Products provides door and hardware products for commercial and institutional building projects.
The General Accountant handles high-volume project accounting, invoicing, payables, and other accounting duties.
Schedule and work arrangement
- This is a full-time, in-person role.
- Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Candidate qualifications
- At least 5 years of accounting experience, focused on project accounting.
- Commercial construction distributor or subcontractor experience is an asset.
- Proficiency with Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLookup.
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate across departments and support corporate objectives.
Project accounting
- Ensure project finances align with contract terms.
- Reconcile invoices with contract values and change orders.
- Prepare and issue client billing packages on time, with payments handled according to contract terms.
- Work with Project Managers to record costs and bill projects according to agreed schedules.
- Issue and maintain current insurance certificates and statutory declarations.
General accounting
- Assist with full-cycle accounting and month-end close procedures.
- Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare accrual entries and maintain accounting schedules.
- Assist with accounts payable functions and apply customer payments.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
Compensation and benefits
- Salary range is $55,000 to $60,000 per year; the final offer depends on experience.
- Benefits include health and dental coverage, flexible work options, and on-site parking.
