The GenAI Manager leads end-to-end development and delivery of Generative AI products.
The role bridges AI architecture, product development, and engineering execution to build scalable, production-ready AI applications.
The manager collaborates with AI Architects, Solution Architects, AI/ML Engineers, Prompt Engineers, and Full Stack Developers.
Responsibilities
- Lead GenAI application development from ideation, architecture, development, testing, and deployment through optimization.
- Translate business requirements into scalable GenAI solutions and define roadmaps, sprint plans, milestones, and delivery timelines.
- Oversee LLM-powered applications such as RAG systems, conversational AI, and AI agents.
- Lead cross-functional AI/ML, prompt engineering, full-stack, DevOps/MLOps, and QA teams.
- Guide LLM, embedding model, AI framework, prompt engineering, RAG, and vector database decisions.
- Manage cloud platforms, GPU resources, model serving, CI/CD, model versioning, monitoring, and observability.
- Build and scale high-performing AI development teams through hiring, mentoring, and capability development.
- Communicate project progress, risks, outcomes, architectures, demonstrations, and ROI analyses to stakeholders.
Qualifications and Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI/ML, Data Science, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in software development, AI/ML, or technology product management.
- At least 4 years of experience leading AI/ML or GenAI development teams and programs.
- Proven experience delivering production-grade AI applications.
- Strong knowledge of LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, and AI agents.
- Proficiency with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, OpenAI or Azure OpenAI APIs, Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, REST APIs, and microservices.
- Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or GCP and MLOps tooling.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder influence, product thinking, and technical team-building abilities.
- AI/ML or Product Management certifications are a plus.
