The GCP Platform Engineer will design, build, and operate Google Cloud platforms for enterprise clients.

Hybrid cloud and networking
- Design, implement, and support hybrid connectivity between on-premises data centers and Google Cloud using Cloud Interconnect, HA VPN, Cloud Router, and BGP.
- Build and operate VPC and Shared VPC environments, including subnetting, routing, firewall policies, Cloud DNS, load balancing, and network segmentation.
- Connect cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and enterprise applications using SFTP, Kafka, and REST APIs.
- Contribute to landing zones, cloud migrations, modernization initiatives, and post-delivery support models.
Automation and delivery
- Develop and maintain Terraform configurations across multiple environments.
- Build and support CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform changes.
- Produce high-level and low-level designs, integration specifications, implementation runbooks, and operational guides.
Operations and improvement
- Implement logging, metrics, alerting, dashboards, and operational reporting across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Troubleshoot complex connectivity and infrastructure issues across GCP, on-premises networks, and third-party services.
- Contribute to incident response, root cause analysis, architecture reviews, design workshops, and implementation activities.
- Explain options, risks, and trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
Security standard
- The platform standard is private by default, with no assigned public IP addresses for workloads.
- Private Service Connect, VPC Service Controls, IAM, least-privilege firewall policies, controlled egress, Secret Manager, workload-specific service accounts, and Cloud KMS are used where appropriate.
- Required audit and security logs are centralized and sent to the enterprise SIEM.
Technical experience
- Hands-on GCP networking experience covering VPC, Shared VPC, subnetting, routing, firewall policies, Cloud DNS, and load balancing.
- Practical experience with Cloud Interconnect, Cloud VPN, HA VPN, and Cloud Router; BGP experience is useful.
- Experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, IAM, Secret Manager, Cloud KMS, VPC Service Controls, Private Service Connect, and Cloud Armor.
- Experience with Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and technical troubleshooting.
- Ability to produce clear technical designs, integration specifications, implementation runbooks, and operational guides.
Consulting and communication
- Direct customer or stakeholder experience in a delivery, consulting, or engineering role.
- Ability to explain technical choices to non-specialists, document decisions, and identify risks clearly.
- Confidence contributing to workshops, architecture reviews, and delivery activities.
- Ability to communicate risks, dependencies, and unclear requirements early and collaborate across technical teams.
Useful experience
- Experience with GitLab, BigQuery, Confluent Kafka, another public cloud provider, or an enterprise networking platform is useful.
