Gas Engineer

Role overview

Role responsibilities

• Carry out reactive fault finding, repairs, gas diagnostics and breakdowns.
• Service and maintain boilers and complete planned preventative maintenance and compliance works.
• Perform plumbing repairs and maintenance; install or replace hot and cold water services, sanitaryware and pipework.
• Complete small refurbishment, project installation and plumbing and heating alteration works.
• Work across commercial, residential, education, healthcare and facilities management environments.
• Complete job reports using a PDA or mobile device and provide professional service to clients and building occupants.
• Participate in overtime and an out-of-hours call-out rota when required.

Required qualifications and experience

• Current ACS Gas qualifications and Gas Safe registration, or eligibility for immediate registration, are mandatory.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Experience carrying out reactive maintenance and installation works required.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills; ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Advantageous experience

• Facilities management, commercial maintenance or multi-site experience is advantageous but not essential.

Pay and benefits

• £40,000–£45,000 per year, depending on experience.
• Company vehicle and fuel card; overtime and call-outs paid at time-and-a-half.

Work arrangement

• Field-based work across the North West and Yorkshire.
• Work location is in person.
