Role Overview

We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking a Junior Game Developer (Java / libGDX) to work on a Contract basis.

In this role, you will contribute to the development of 2D game environments to train next-generation AI systems through real-world interactions.

Your work will directly impact how AI models learn, reason, and perform across industries including finance, healthcare, and engineering.

This position is ideal for developers with a passion for gaming and a desire to shape the future of AI training data through high-quality, interactive experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize simple 2D game features using Java and the libGDX framework.
  • Collaborate with AI specialists to design game interactions that generate high-quality training data for AI models.
  • Implement core game mechanics including sprite management, game loops, and input handling.
  • Troubleshoot and debug code to ensure optimal performance and reliability of game modules.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of internal coding standards.
  • Document technical processes and game development workflows clearly for cross-functional teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Java programming with hands-on experience in game development or related applications.
  • Familiarity with the libGDX framework for building cross-platform 2D games.
  • Understanding of basic game mechanics including sprite management, game loops, and input handling.
  • Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code for collaborative environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on debugging and optimizing game performance.
  • No prior experience in AI is required; domain knowledge in gaming is what matters for this role.
