Developed as a strategic logistics and industrial hub under Oman’s economic diversification plans, the port supports bulk cargo, containers, dry dock services, petrochemicals, and heavy industries, and is designed to serve global shipping routes between Asia, Africa, and Europe.

Cargo Coordinator - Job Description

A Cargo Coordinator manages the movement of goods (cargo) from origin to

destination-making sure everything is delivered on time, safely, and with correct documents.

Main responsibilities

Typical duties include:

1. Shipment planning & coordination

• Arrange cargo transport (sea, land, sometimes air)
• Coordinate with:
• shipping lines
• trucking companies
• port authorities
• Schedule loading/unloading at port terminals

2. Documentation handling

• Prepare and check:
• Bill of Lading (B/L)
• invoices and packing lists
• customs clearance documents
• Ensure compliance with port and customs regulations

3. Tracking & communication

• Track shipments in real time
• Update clients and managers on cargo status
• Handle delays, damages, or missing cargo issues

4. Port & warehouse coordination

• Work with:
• crane operators
• warehouse teams
• vessel agents
• Ensure smooth cargo movement inside the port

5. Problem-solving

• Resolve logistics issues (delays, documentation errors, etc.)
• Optimize routes and reduce costs
