Role overview

Join MSCI's Private Assets AI team in New York to build an AI-native diligence platform for allocators evaluating funds and managers.

Work as a hands-on individual contributor across client-facing interfaces, backend services, data models, and AI features.

Partner with product, design, and AI engineers; engage with clients and client-facing teams to understand workflows and support onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Design and ship end-to-end features across React, Next.js, TypeScript, Python, and FastAPI.
  • Build responsive interfaces for document review, diligence frameworks, and report creation and editing.
  • Design APIs and data models supporting the application and AI features.
  • Integrate LLM-powered document extraction, chat over data, and generated reports into client workflows.
  • Gather client feedback, improve the product, and support onboarding, secure document ingestion, and configuration.
  • Own reliability and performance through testing, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Drive quality through reviews, design documentation, and CI/CD; apply AI coding assistants and agents.

Required experience and skills

  • At least 3 years building and operating production web applications end to end.
  • Strong React, Next.js, and TypeScript experience, including data-rich interfaces.
  • Solid Python backend experience with APIs/services, relational databases, and asynchronous or background processing.
  • Experience integrating LLM APIs, designing prompts, using tool calling, and handling model outputs in user-facing applications.
  • Strong product sense, client and stakeholder communication, and ownership in a lean team.

Preferred experience

  • Financial services experience, especially private markets, asset management, wealth management, or fintech, is a strong plus.
  • Forward-deployed, solutions, or early-stage product engineering experience with significant client exposure is a strong plus.
  • GCP or Azure, containers, and CI/CD experience such as GitHub Actions is a strong plus.

Compensation

  • The description lists a salary range of $125,000–$205,000 per year and eligibility for an annual bonus.
  • The structured salary field lists USD 113,000–205,000 yearly.

Work arrangement

  • The team is described as being in New York; flexible working arrangements are mentioned, but no specific remote, hybrid, or onsite policy is stated.
