Role Overview

What You'll Do

• Build and scale user-facing fintech products for the payments platform.
• Use AI coding tools to scope, plan, and execute projects across a large multi-service codebase.
• Break down ambiguous multi-week projects into shippable milestones and manage execution.
• Own features from technical design and implementation through iteration based on user feedback.
• Work with React.js and TypeScript on the frontend and Node.js and TypeScript on the backend.
• Partner with Product and Design on requirements, UX decisions, and technical tradeoffs.
• Design secure, scalable, and performant payment systems.
• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Operations on regulatory and operational needs.
• Contribute to stakeholder communication, product planning, and prioritization.
• Participate in on-call and engineering runner rotations and resolve production issues.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building product-driven, user-facing applications.
• Fluency with AI coding tools for scoping, repository exploration, and software delivery.
• Familiarity with agent tooling, RAG pipelines, or prompt engineering is preferred.
• Full stack experience with React.js, Node.js, and TypeScript or similar frameworks.
• Product mindset focused on usability, customer experience, and business impact.
• Strong problem-solving, ownership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with scalable, reliable systems and modern web architectures.
• Comfort working in fast-moving environments without an established playbook.

Nice to Have

• Experience at an early-stage or high-growth startup.
• Exposure to payments, financial APIs, risk systems, crypto, or blockchain products.
• Experience with large established codebases or multi-service architectures.

Compensation

• The annual base salary range is $115,000 to $135,000 in New York.
• Compensation outside New York is based on the applicable market and location-based pay range.
• The base salary excludes commission, equity, and benefits.

In-Office Expectations

• New York City employees follow a hybrid model and are expected to work from the office three days per week.
