  • What you’ll bring
  • Core engineering • Solid full-stack development experience across modern front-end and back-end technologies, with cloud/SaaS exposure. • Strong grasp of software design, testing and quality fundamentals - you know what good looks like and can articulate why. • Comfortable working in Agile/scrum teams and collaborating closely with Product.
  • AI fluency •Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants or agentic tools in real delivery - and, more importantly, good judgement about when to trust, correct or override them. • Able to write clear specifications and prompts, and to critically review AI-generated code for correctness, security and maintainability. • Curious and self-directed about emerging AI engineering practice - you actively experiment rather than wait to be trained. (Specific tools matter less than the fluency and judgement; the toolchain will keep changing.)
  • Mindset • Comfortable with ambiguity and change - you can do valuable work today while the operating model around you is still forming. • Passion for complex problem solving, as well as statistics and algorithm development • Paint drip-shaped: you have multiple deep areas of expertise and demonstrate ability to use various approaches and adapt as roles blur. • Sees reviewing and specifying as real engineering and an opportunity to deliver even more value, not a step down from writing code. • A growth mindset and a bias to improve the system, not just complete the ticket.
  • General knowledge of the insurance industry and degree level education in a relevant discipline is highly desirable but not essential.
