WedWise is a fast-growing platform built for brides, grooms, and professional wedding planners.
We're digitising the entire wedding planning experience, from event timelines and vendor management to guest lists, budgets, moodboards, and now AI-powered planning.
We move fast, we care deeply about our product, and we're building something genuinely new in a space that hasn't seen real innovation yet.
Our platform is live, built, and growing, with real users and real weddings being planned on it every day.
We’re looking for someone to work with us on a
6-months contract basis
to bring the platform to the next level.
Note: this is a fully remote role for now and can be done from anywhere in the world!
Should you prove during your contract that you have what it takes to help us grow, this will turn into a full time role.
Role Description
You'll be coming into a working, live product, your first mission is to get under the hood, understand every part of how it's built, and make sure the codebase is clean, well-documented, and properly structured for long-term growth.
From there you'll own day-to-day maintenance, ship new features, and act as the bridge between our product vision and development.
What You'll Be Doing
- Codebase audit & documentation Get a thorough understanding of the existing codebase, identify anything that needs tidying, and ensure everything is properly documented so the business is never dependent on a single point of knowledge
- Owning day-to-day site maintenance and platform stability across the WedWise web app
- Investigating, prioritising, and resolving bugs quickly and cleanly
- Building and shipping new feature enhancements across the platform
- Acting as the internal technical point of contact for our AI development agency, reviewing their work, managing integration points, and ensuring the AI layer doesn't create unintended side effects on the rest of the platform
- Managing the product's Jira board, writing clear tickets, tracking progress, and keeping development organised
- Working directly with the founder to translate product ideas into technical requirements
- Owning the deployment pipeline and ensuring staging and production environments stay in sync
- Proactively identifying technical debt and proposing improvements before they become problems
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of full stack development experience
- Proven ability to come into an existing codebase, understand it quickly, and improve it — not just maintain it
- Experience or genuine interest in AI/LLM product integration
- Comfortable owning a product end-to-end
- Strong on documentation; you leave things clearer than you found them
- Strong communicator; you'll be working directly with a non-technical founder, so translating tech into plain English is essential
- Self-starter who can manage their own priorities in a fast-moving environment
