Full Stack Engineer

Role overview

Backend and API development

• Design, develop and maintain backend services with Java and Spring Boot, plus scalable RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Implement business logic, workflows, backend and third-party integrations, and secure APIs for mobile and web applications.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases to design efficient data models and queries; implement asynchronous processing and messaging.

Security, quality and operations

• Implement authentication and authorization with Spring Security, OAuth 2.0, JWT, RBAC, token validation and access controls.
• Apply secure coding, identify and remediate vulnerabilities, and implement logging, monitoring, auditing and security controls.
• Optimize performance, scalability, availability and reliability; develop unit and integration tests and maintain code quality.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.

Collaboration and delivery

• Collaborate with Android, frontend, QA, DevOps, security and product teams; participate in code reviews, technical discussions and architectural decisions.
• Follow Agile practices and contribute to technical documentation.

Required experience and education

• 8+ years of professional Java backend development experience.
• Strong hands-on Java, Spring Boot and Spring Security experience; knowledge of authentication, authorization, OAuth 2.0, JWT and RBAC.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, secure API design, API security, secure coding and common OWASP/API vulnerabilities.
• Experience with JPA/Hibernate, SQL and PostgreSQL or MySQL; Redis and/or Kafka or RabbitMQ; HTTPS/TLS; Git and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with Docker and AWS, Azure or GCP cloud platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or a related field.

Preferred experience and competencies

• Preferred experience includes mobile or enterprise backends, high-volume APIs, distributed systems, event-driven architecture, performance optimization and security vulnerability remediation.
• OIDC, service-to-service authentication, fintech or other regulated environments, and device-management or enterprise mobility platforms are preferred.
• Strong backend architecture, clean and maintainable code, problem-solving, analytical, communication and collaboration skills are expected.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced Agile environment and take ownership of production systems and technical deliverables.
