The role
Seeking an AI-first full stack engineer who ships quickly and owns features end to end.
Backend and API engineering are central to the role, across PHP and Node.js APIs, MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, and React front ends.
The engineer will use AI coding tools as a core part of daily work in a small team with high ownership and few handoffs.
On-site in the Dubai office five days a week; full-time.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and maintain secure, documented PHP and Node.js REST APIs for company apps and customer or partner integrations.
- Model data and write efficient MySQL and PostgreSQL queries; handle schema changes and performance tuning.
- Build responsive React front ends on the APIs you create.
- Take features from idea to production, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Use AI coding agents and assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex, and review and test their output.
- Track new AI developer tools and bring useful tools into the team's workflow.
- Work directly with product, customers, and the wider team to solve real problems.
What you'll bring
- At least 3 years as an employed software engineer building production web applications, excluding internships and study.
- Strong PHP and Node.js backend engineering, including production API design and implementation.
- Professional experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and React.
- Daily use of current AI coding tools and ability to show how they improve productivity.
- Solid Git, code review, and automated testing habits.
- Clear, professional spoken and written English.
- Enjoy working in a startup environment with high ownership and few handoffs.
Nice to have
- TypeScript.
- Docker and cloud deployment using AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Integrating LLM APIs into products.
- Automotive, marketplace, or pricing data experience.
