Role Overview

What You'll Do

• Lead diverse technology projects and developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions.
• Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and set design, development, and operational standards.
• Define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks with architects.
• Implement refactoring that reduces technical debt and improves system performance.
• Influence technology strategy by evaluating emerging tools and practices.
• Mentor engineers and participate in internal and external technology communities.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
• At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internships do not apply.
• At least 2 years with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 7+ years coding with more than two listed languages, including Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.
• 3+ years with databases, cloud technologies, front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, testing, or Git-based version control.
• Experience with AI coding tools, observability, mentoring, technical leadership, coding standards, and design patterns.

Compensation

• Annual salary range: $197,300-$225,100 in McLean, Virginia.
• Annual salary range: $215,200-$245,600 in New York, New York.
• The role may earn performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses or long-term incentives.
