Join Vretta's Product Development and Implementation team to build scalable software for assessment platforms.
The role includes end-to-end feature ownership and Level 3 operational support for critical systems in an agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Build scalable platform features with instructional designers, data engineers, and cross-functional teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents and escalations through Level 3 support.
- Reuse, extend, and architect code components, design patterns, and libraries.
- Maintain, optimize, and refactor applications for performance, stability, and reliability.
- Write tests, review code, debug across the full stack, and assist with deployment pipelines.
- Review technical requirements, communicate implementation plans, and report progress and timelines.
- Keep current with technologies and best practices and contribute ideas to improve development workflows.
Required qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 2–4 years of professional software development experience, or equivalent full-time work and co-op/internships.
- Strong modern JavaScript foundation, including ES6+, package management, module loading, and transpiling.
- Ability to debug issues across software stack layers; clear communication, critical thinking, logical reasoning, time management, and task ownership.
Nice to have
- Hands-on TypeScript and modern bundlers such as Webpack or Vite.
- Familiarity with HTML5 Canvas, web animations, or sequencing logic.
- Exposure to data modeling, statistical techniques, or linear optimization.
- Strong UI/UX attention and interest in interactive design.
