  • Integrate front-end and back-end systems using Air Canada’s Enterprise Integration Platform.
  • Write maintainable, documented code and develop unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Optimize front-end, backend, and database performance; apply microservices, serverless, and modular design.
  • Collaborate with product, design, QA, and DevOps teams and participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint activities.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools, support their adoption, and contribute to documentation and onboarding materials.
  • Lead debugging, performance tuning, post-release support, and recommendations for improvements.

Required qualifications

  • Strong Java and Node.js proficiency, with at least 2 years’ experience in these technologies.
  • Experience building and integrating mission-critical APIs.

  • Experience with REST, SOAP, OpenAPI, or Swagger; AWS, Azure, or GCP; CI/CD pipelines; Docker; Kubernetes; and infrastructure automation.
  • Strong understanding of application security, performance optimization, and data protection; familiarity with AI integration and emerging technologies.
  • Punctuality and dependability in a fast-paced environment.

Assets

  • Mulesoft or other Java-based ESB experience, including IBM IIB or Tibco.
  • Exposure to API management platforms such as Apigee, IBM API Connect, or Mulesoft.
  • Content management system experience, such as Adobe Experience Manager.
  • Airline or travel industry background; Agile cross-functional development experience.
