The role

What you will do

• Build features with Next.js and TypeScript, and APIs with Node.js and Express.
• Design PostgreSQL schemas and efficient queries using Prisma ORM.
• Build AI features for report review, summaries, translation, document Q&A, chat, and voice assistants.
• Build RAG using embeddings and pgvector; use structured outputs and tool calling.
• Evaluate and monitor AI quality, cost, and latency through evaluation sets, logging, usage caps, and fallbacks.
• Implement authentication, including SSO, role-based access, and strict customer data separation.
• Deploy and run services on AWS with CI/CD; write tests and take part in code reviews.
• Support ships with slow or unavailable internet through offline storage and synchronization.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of full stack development experience.
• Strong HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript; production experience with Next.js and React.
• Node.js, Express, REST API design, and PostgreSQL schema design, indexing, and query tuning.
• AWS experience with EC2, S3, RDS, and IAM; SES or Cognito is a plus.
• CI/CD and Git with pull-request reviews; GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline/CodeDeploy are examples.
• Hands-on OpenAI API experience in a shipped product, including prompt design, structured outputs, function or tool calling, and embeddings.
• Understanding of hallucination, prompt injection, data privacy, and token cost control.
• Automated unit and API testing; Jest and Playwright are examples.
• Clear written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• RAG frameworks or vector databases such as pgvector, LangChain, or LlamaIndex.
• AI agents or voice AI, including speech-to-text or text-to-speech.
• LLM evaluation tools such as Promptfoo and AI observability.
• React Native mobile development for iOS and Android.
• Offline-first apps using IndexedDB, service workers, local storage, and sync.
• Docker, PM2, Redis, or job queues; security basics such as OWASP Top 10, password hashing, and SSO (OAuth/OIDC).
• Maritime, HSE, or B2B SaaS experience.
