Role Overview
CAE is seeking an experienced FSTD Simulator Technician II to support simulators in naval and air domains.
The role is a floating technical resource across three UAE sites, providing flexible coverage, operational continuity, and surge support.
The position requires frequent travel, overnight stays, short-notice deployment, shift work, and overtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on simulators and associated systems.
- Diagnose routine and complex problems and troubleshoot to system level across multiple simulator types.
- Record and track maintenance activities in a maintenance management system.
- Perform pre- and post-training checks, visual alignments, and Qualification Test Guide evaluations when required.
- Assist with refurbishment, hardware modifications, testing, and validation of repaired parts.
- Train technicians in basic skills and complete all designated training activities.
- Provide customer service support and address customer needs promptly.
- Adapt to site procedures, customer requirements, simulator configurations, and quality and safety standards.
- Maintain simulator housekeeping and complete administrative and technical services tasks.
Qualifications
- A two-year technical degree or equivalent related training is required.
- At least three years of direct simulator experience is required.
- Experience troubleshooting multiple simulator types to system level is required.
- Proficiency with test equipment and simulator diagnostic tools is required.
- Experience with preventive maintenance, training checks, visual adjustment, and setup is required.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and fluency in English are required.
- A valid UAE driving license is required.
- The role requires working across multiple sites with minimal supervision and accepting travel, shift, overtime, and overnight assignments.
Work Arrangement
- The technician floats across three company sites within the UAE and may travel abroad.
- Site allocations may vary in duration and frequency based on operational requirements.
