About The Role

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end freight forwarding operations for land and sea shipments.
• Coordinate import and export shipments across Middle East markets.
• Handle shipments to and from Nigeria and Kenya, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
• Liaise with shipping lines, transporters, agents, customs brokers, and customers to ensure smooth shipment execution.
• Prepare and review shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, manifests, invoices, packing lists, and customs-related documents.
• Monitor shipment status and proactively communicate updates to customers and stakeholders.
• Coordinate customs clearance activities and resolve operational issues promptly.
• Negotiate rates and work closely with carriers, overseas agents, and service providers.
• Ensure compliance with company SOPs, industry regulations, and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate operational records and prepare shipment reports when required.
• Support business development teams with operational and market insights related to the Africa trade lanes.

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of freight forwarding experience, specifically in land and sea freight operations.
• Proven experience handling Middle East freight forwarding operations.
• Strong experience working with Nigeria and Kenya trade lanes and local market requirements.
• Good understanding of customs procedures, shipping documentation, and international logistics processes.
• Experience coordinating with overseas agents, shipping lines, and transport providers.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Proficiency in MS Office and freight forwarding/logistics management systems.
• Must be currently based in Dubai, UAE.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in African trade routes beyond Nigeria and Kenya.
• Existing network of freight forwarding partners, agents, and carriers.
• Knowledge of multimodal transportation and project logistics.
