Role Description
This is a freelance, on-site role for a Video Editor based in the United Arab Emirates.
The Freelance Video Editor will be responsible for editing raw footage into polished videos, including corporate content, social media clips, promotional videos, and other client projects.
Daily tasks include organizing and reviewing footage, applying cuts, transitions, sound effects, and color correction, and ensuring that videos align with project briefs and brand guidelines.
The role involves collaborating with producers, content creators, and other team members to refine concepts, incorporate feedback, and meet deadlines.
The Video Editor will also be expected to manage project files, maintain an organized workflow, and stay current with editing trends and best practices.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency with professional video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve).
- Experience with motion graphics and basic visual effects using tools such as After Effects or similar applications.
- Solid understanding of storytelling, pacing, and visual composition for different formats (social media, web, presentations).
- Knowledge of audio editing, sound design, and basic color correction/grading techniques.
- Ability to interpret creative briefs, follow brand guidelines, and incorporate feedback efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills, including file management, version control, and meeting project deadlines.
- Portfolio or showreel demonstrating previous video editing work, ideally across multiple formats and styles.
- Ability to work on-site in the United Arab Emirates and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail, commitment to quality, and a proactive approach to problem-solving during the editing process.
- Relevant education or training in film, media production, or a related field is preferred but not required with equivalent experience.
