We are now entering a more execution-focused phase and are seeking an experienced technical builder to help shape the next stage of growth.
Role Description
FreWork is seeking a Founding Full Stack Engineer to help build and shape the company’s technical foundation.
This is a full-time role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with the potential to evolve into a Technical Co-Founder or CTO-level position for the right individual.
As one of the earliest members of the company, you will work directly with the founder to architect, develop, and scale the platform from the ground up.
You will be responsible for building core product features, designing scalable systems, establishing engineering standards, contributing to product strategy, and helping define the long-term technical roadmap.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building from zero to one, thrives in high-ownership environments, and wants meaningful influence over the future direction of a company.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack product features from concept through deployment.
- Architect scalable backend services, APIs, databases, and platform infrastructure.
- Develop responsive, reliable, and user-focused front-end experiences.
- Translate business requirements and user needs into technical solutions.
- Ensure performance, security, reliability, and maintainability across the platform.
- Evaluate and integrate third-party services, automation tools, and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate closely on product strategy, roadmap planning, and technical decision-making.
- Establish engineering processes, standards, and development best practices.
- Support future technical hiring and contribute to building the engineering team.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in full-stack software development with ownership across the development lifecycle.
- Experience building and deploying modern web applications using contemporary front-end and back-end technologies.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, API development, databases, and scalable systems.
- Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React, Next.js, Node.js, or similar technologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD workflows, deployment pipelines, and production environments.
- Strong problem-solving ability and an ownership-driven mindset.
- Ability to operate effectively in an early-stage startup environment with evolving priorities.
- Comfortable collaborating directly with founders and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with SaaS platforms, marketplaces, AI-powered products, fintech, or future-of-work technologies is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
