Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar for a Foul Sewerage Pumping Stations HSE Engineer.
The HSE Engineer will oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance for foul sewerage pumping stations and associated infrastructure works, ensuring adherence to local regulations, client requirements, and company standards.
The role involves conducting risk assessments, job safety analyses, method statement reviews, and site inspections, as well as monitoring contractor activities to ensure safe systems of work.
The HSE Engineer will investigate incidents and near-misses, maintain HSE records and reports, and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Daily responsibilities include coordinating toolbox talks and safety briefings, delivering HSE training, promoting a positive safety culture among site teams, and liaising with project management, consultants, and authorities on HSE matters.
Qualifications
- Strong background in Health & Safety, Environment Health and Safety (EHS), and Occupational Health, with experience in construction or infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in Safety Engineering for electrical, mechanical and civil systems, preferably within foul sewerage or water/wastewater pumping stations.
- Experience in developing and delivering HSE Training, toolbox talks, and safety awareness programs for diverse site teams.
- *** BSc or B.
- Engr., Level 6 (Nebosh, NVQ L6), Lead Auditor (45001), Nebosh IGC, IOSH (MS & WS), OSHA 30hours (GI), 10 years of working experience as HS Engineer.*** Knowledge of Qatar HSE regulations and international standards, with the ability to prepare and review risk assessments, method statements, and HSE plans.
- Strong communication, reporting, and documentation skills, with the ability to influence safe behaviors and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on-site.
- Experience working on large infrastructure or utility projects in the GCC region is an advantage; foul sewerage and pumping station experience is highly desirable.
- *** Candidate shall be available in Qatar and holding Driving License.**
