Veeam is seeking a Forward Deployment Engineer to serve as a technical leader and strategic owner of customer outcomes in complex enterprise environments.
The role combines advanced systems architecture, software engineering, and executive-level customer leadership.
The engineer will design, deploy, and scale Securiti's platform across complex data, security, and AI ecosystems.
Customer Deployment and Ownership
- Own and lead complex, multi-phase deployments across AWS, Azure, GCP, and on-premises environments.
- Drive end-to-end customer outcomes from initial architecture through production scale.
- Act as a senior technical stakeholder within customer engineering and leadership teams.
- Resolve critical technical challenges across infrastructure, networking, and data systems.
Solution Architecture and Strategy
- Design scalable architectures for data discovery, classification, governance, and AI use cases.
- Define implementation strategies for large-scale enterprise deployments.
- Translate ambiguous business problems into structured technical solutions with production performance, scalability, and reliability.
Integration and Engineering
- Lead integrations across customer ecosystems using APIs, workflows, and automation.
- Design and develop custom integrations and glue code connecting platform and legacy systems.
- Guide data pipeline design, ETL processes, and system interoperability at scale.
- Establish best practices for automation, scripting, and system extensibility.
Customer and Cross-Functional Leadership
- Own technical relationships with customers, including senior engineering and executive stakeholders.
- Lead architecture workshops, design sessions, and executive-level technical discussions.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Support teams to align execution with strategic goals.
- Influence product roadmap, prioritization, architectural direction, and customer decision-making.
Mentorship and Enablement
- Mentor and guide Forward Deployment Engineers and junior team members.
- Elevate team capabilities through knowledge sharing, code reviews, and architectural guidance.
- Develop technical documentation, architectural standards, deployment frameworks, and knowledge-transfer materials.
Required Qualifications
- 5–8+ years in a customer-facing technical role with strong ownership of architecture and delivery.
- Deep experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, enterprise infrastructure, Kubernetes, containers, and Linux systems.
- Advanced proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, JavaScript, or a similar language.
- Experience with large-scale integrations using APIs and distributed architectures.
- Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases and unstructured data systems.
- Understanding of data security, privacy, governance, and compliance concepts.
- Experience with enterprise data access control, encryption, or masking.
- Ability to independently solve ambiguous, high-severity technical challenges and engage executive stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with AI/ML systems, generative AI, or RAG-based architectures.
- Background in data governance, DLP, DSPM, or privacy platforms.
- Experience with enterprise-scale distributed systems and large data environments.
- Familiarity with GDPR, SOC2, ISO 27001, or similar regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, ServiceNow, or Elastic.
Success Measures
Large-scale customer deployments are delivered and scaled within defined timelines.
Complex enterprise challenges are translated into scalable, repeatable architectural patterns.
Customer use cases produce measurable outcomes such as risk reduction, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Customer adoption, expansion, and long-term strategic partnerships are strengthened.
Field insights influence product roadmap, architecture, and company strategy.
